Séayoncé's Saucy Sorcery Society! An hex-ceptional occult classic!
Otherwise known to me as 'spooky circus cabaret'
Another thing I booked to look forward to before entering my new living arrangements was my new office-mate’s huge first on-site event. Shambling around all evening as Monty the Managa, H’s pregnancy bump served as a nice beer belly (though that and brewing appendicitis left H exhausted).
It was an 18+ event and, as the title suggests, involved lots of bawdy content. Highlights for me were the old-fashioned slapstick, the juggling and daring rope and ribbon acrobatics. Silliness, strength and beauty are sustaining me at the moment.

This was the first time Newcastle Circus Arts has held an event in Studio Deco in the John Marley Centre in Newcastle’s West End. There were child-friendly Halloween events too, and if you can ever visit or do some training with their school I’d recommend having a look at what they offer, as well as keeping an eye out for their performances elsewhere.
I was on my own at the show, but the atmosphere was electric and welcoming. As I get to know H and be near this environment I’m curious to see what this old but not past it hypermobile body might learn. Certainly more fun feels like it’s on the way.
